We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how YouTube Reading Friendly (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the YouTube Reading Friendly Chrome/Browser Extension.

1. Information We Collect (Google Analytics)

Our extension collects limited, non-personally identifiable information (Non-PII) through Google Analytics (GA4) using the Measurement Protocol. This is done solely to understand user behavior, optimize performance, and improve the user interface.

The data collected includes anonymous usage statistics, such as:

• Extension installation and updates.
• Feature usage (e.g., toggling specific settings, buttons clicked within the extension).
• General, non-precise geographic location (country/city derived from IP, though IP addresses are anonymized and not stored by us).

What We DO NOT Collect:

• We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, email addresses, passwords, or browsing history outside of our extension’s scope.
• We do not track or record your personal data or the content of the websites you visit.

2. User Control & Consent (Opt-Out / Opt-In)

We believe in user transparency and control.

• Onboarding & Settings: Upon installation, you will be presented with our Settings page.
• Control: You can easily enable or disable data collection at any time via the “Disable Tracking / Analytics” toggle switch in the Extension’s Settings/Options page.
• Data Stop: Once disabled, the extension immediately ceases to transmit any usage data to Google Analytics.
